On protest
The recent protests that got violent with police in China and I saw on TV news reminded me of a comment from a social media contact recently who was from China.
I told her about police brutality I had been through recently in the U.S. She said, ‘” It is the same everywhere.”
It reminds me of a recent Hollywood movie I liked about a U.S. alcoholic trying to get from L.A. to Mexico to take care of a daughter he found out he had there from a brief fling with a woman who just died.
He ends up in a southwest U.S. town on the way to Mexico where the local people hunt outsiders, they consider miscreants. Getting closer to’ the Mexico border, he encounters walking a line of’ emigrees and warns the leader that there are bad people back there. The emigre leader replies, “There are bad people ‘everywhere”.
