A memory
In I think my third or fourth. year of high school, I had an incident with the senior disciplinarian administrator where I said something a bit rude, and he shot back saying, “whatever you do in life, you will fail.”
It was a private school, and a lot of things were done through back channels. I told my Greek tutor about what the disciplinarian said to me and felt it to be emotional abuse and wanted him warned and maybe slightly reprimanded for it… but not fired.
My recollection is that the school staff almost fired him. but the Greek teacher would not allow it.
