A comment and a poem
On “Back to the Old House”
This is one of my favorite songs by The Smiths. One of the best lines is “and you never knew how much I really liked you.” It expresses the sad sentimentality you can feel for past homes and lost romance. I had a theory when
much younger that homosexuals like Morrissey are heart-broken heterosexuals.
