I basically took a break from writing today.

I was considering writing about media. I still follow it either on TV or through online publications, but as with movies I have largely lost interest recently.

Trying to get revved up again on a new book manuscript. Only have the first part and an outline now.

A brief  poem

“December” by yours truly

It is now December

And something soon to remember,

An allusion to the past.

Times and some crimes.

So vast.

The rinds of limes

Inside glasses of liquor

With some mixer.

Said to be quicker.

Please don’t snicker.

Sometimes she still does flicker.

Just a brief poem/joke

“Common” by yours truly

“What do you think we have in common?” the intended queried.

“Well, I am male, so we don’t have gender in common.”

“LOL.”

“Seriously, you seem easy-going, and ,I’usally am too but can sometimes have a bad temper. Also you are beautiful, and I am usually not monstrously ugly.”

A comment and a joke

Sometimes brief poems go into and out of my head before they can be captured, and that may be for the best. But it can still feel like a loss like lost friends,

“There is nothing more to say/ They have all gone away.”

Can be gloomy at times.

A joke

On the controversy over U.S. import of Chinese chips, I don’t mind them if they are tasty and preferably flavored cheddar cheese. Of course, U.S.-made chips would be better.

A poem

“Shoulder” by yours truly

Not sure if Mom really minds

Me having a girlfriend/wife

With a small tattoo on her shoulder.

I may be getting bolder or just older.

The weather is getting colder.

Act or just smolder.

On work in progress and a poem

I am gradually getting back to my novella manuscript after stalling about two weeks and still plan to be done by the end of the year.

On a personal note, I recently reconnected online with a woman with whom I ‘seem to have good, chemistry, but I have learned you’have to be cautious about online romance. She has a small tattoo on one shoulder, but nobody’s perfekt. And she seems honest and sweet.

A poem/ joke

“Braids” by yours truly

They say women who are not buxom

Might wear long-haired braids to compensate.

You are voluptuous and have long braids too.

Don’t you think you could be overdoing it?

(Not that I mind).

Just one poem

I was going to write about Mass again today, but sometimes the pastor speaks mainly of administrative stuff in his sermon and not Biblical analysis. So a brief poem.

“Remaining” by yours truly

Remains,

There are stains.

And pains, pains, pains

But eventually wains.

Three“poems

“Particles” by yours truly

Particles on the floor

That you can’t ignore.

Let the vacuum go whirr,

Then to the couch and snore.

More?

“Laptop” by yours truly

Please Hunter Biden,

Keep your laptop computer away from me.

At least six feet away would be fine.

You,’ve got yours;’. I’ve got mine.

(Really, please call portable computers notebook computers instead),

“Clouds” by yours truly\

Obscure white clouds

Blanketing foothills in December.

Do you remember? Remember.

Ember.

Two brief poems

“Asleep”+ by yours truly

Pardon my absence, folks,

Sometimes I get too involved in-jokes.

I fell asleep a while at the surreal steering wheel,

“Power” by yours truly

Power from strength,

But sometimes weakness in power.

Day after day, hour after hour.

Life is a flower on the bower.

On blogging

This a bit self-regarding.

I have said before I sometimes use my blog as a public diary. Some, including me at times, use social media as a semi-public diary.

There isn’t anything wrong with that, I think, as long as you stay discreet. As for privacy, I don’t much care about it at this stage and situation in life. It matters more I can hold your interest. It may be Catholicism, the idea that in confession you should disclose even your most difficult acts and thoughts.

But I don’t blog to be all confessional. I try to mix it up with poems, art analysis, jokes, and updates on my writing.
