A poem

“Poppers” by yours truly

Take the jalapeno poppers from the oven

Or you could soon be surrounded by a coven.

After they cool, eat them while watching TV.

Ahh, poppers. poppers: one of the best for shoppers.

Now go back to work!

You jerk.

A kind of weird poem (most of mine are weird)

“Water Damage” by yours truly

Water damage on books and my checkbook.

Will I be able to pay the rent?

At least, I can still read the books.

i was in love with her water,

And she knew I did want her.

But now can’t flaunt her.

On technology

From The Irish Times:

“Tesla chief executive officer Elon Musk discussed his planned acquisition of Twitter, recession fears and the US presidential race with Bloomberg at the Qatar Economic Forum on Tuesday.

During the chat he also clarified how much of Tesla’s workforce would be laid off and said he hoped to unveil his prototype humanoid robot to the world by the end of September. Here’s the Q&A session in full:

Q: Elon Musk, thank you very much for coming and talking to us. You could argue at the moment that we in the media have at least three Elon Musks to deal with: We have the proposed buyer of Twitter; we have the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX and much else; and we have Musk, the emerging political force — and that’s before we discover or discuss all the different provocations and tweets and so on.”

I agree with the idea of moving to new vehicles from gasoline- or diesel-fueled ones, but it hasn’t happened yet. I know almost nothing about Twitter, but it seems like a superficial and somewhat frivolous form of communication. I do use Facebook a lot, obviously.

On a poem and new publishing

“Sink” by yours truly

Let me sink in my sadness,

Oddly, it can relieve pain.

Crying near the window pain.

Though it may be madness.

Like tears in rain.

Have three new novellas my publisher has worked on and are still in the pipeline. But she seemed to be saying in one email recently that I may be writing too much. But I thought the novella Redux was pretty good and have briefly begun a new novella about D.C. politics.

You have to type in the full name of the novella Redux: A Novel of Second Chances and/or author name E.C. Walsh to find it on Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

On Diogenes

Was thinking about Diogenes, recently, the ancient Greek philosopher who walked  around with a lantern looking for an “honest man.”

It has come to mind recently because I have been lied to badly  recently at great  physical, legal, and financial cost.

I quoted a famous contemporary  novelist who said in one of his novels something like “everyone lies.” I think it is true. And sometimes that leads to torture and death.

I believe everyone lies somewhat although most strive for honesty. One person told me on online social media she never lies, but she may have been lying. Haha.

Two joke poems

“Piano” by yours truly

My Mom thinks I am a piano player in a whore house.

Not true!

I don’t even play piano

Or visit whore houses {at least lately).

“Aphasia” by yours truly

“Define aphasia in one word.”

“…”

Had a random memory and/or delusion today

The woman i thought most beautiful and very kind in high school offered to sleep with me in my twenties to relieve my loneliness,  I said no because she had a boyfriend who loved her and later married her.

In grad school, the other students briefly spoke about sex. A woman teacher said one of her female students might want to sleep with a male one to relieve his pain. Another grad student, male and smart, said that doesn’t work.

Sex is a mystery.

Two  poems

“Holding” by yourrs truly

Holding pattern,

Ring ’round Saturn..

Put this in your hat ‘n’

Don’t cause a big flap ‘n’

They were holding hands,

But she seemed far to him, her.

Still holding a bit in her hand (in memory)..

Holding.

Had a second poem, but it was really pretty bad and fortunately forgot it.

A new poem

Because I am getting really tired watching angry politicians on TV news…

“Ten” by yours truly

With your nerve damage,

You should probably count to ten now

Before walking when getting up from bed or chair.

Torture can hurt you,

Buyer beware (and you did have to pay a lot for it).

If you complain to lawyers,

You’ll get blank stares.

“Take Care” by yours truly

Take care,

And don’t pull out what is left of your hair.

You may be in a snare.

Buyer beware.

And grow a pear.

Even if you don’t like the taste.

Try toothpaste.
